About Us
Put-in-Bay Emergency Medical Services has been a leader in Advanced Life Support since 1977.
Put-in-Bay Township has partnered with Mercy Health Services to provide EMS services to Put-in-Bay and six other Erie islands. We are equipped with the most modern Advanced Life Support equipment and medications. We have three ambulances and one quick response unit.
During the busy summer months, our part time staff travel from around the state to provide coverage to PIB on a daily basis, and Middle Bass Island on weekends. In the off season, services are provided by a full time paramedic and volunteer EMT staff consisting of island residents. We respond to nearly 500 emergency calls per year.
Calls to other islands and water rescues are handled in conjunction with the Put-in-Bay Township Harbor Patrol and Put-in-Bay Volunteer Fire Department.
Put-in-Bay EMS has an on-site, fully equipped training center and offers CPR training to the general public. We house two patient care rooms to provide ongoing care in case of inclement weather. We also provide several community services such as weekly blood pressure checks and lab draws for those needing bloodwork.
